th Foundation Day and Annual WUM Gala was organized by Women University Mardan
on Wednesday 26th February, 2025 in Ilyas Grace Marquee, Mardan. Mr. Meena Khan Afridi,
Honorable Provincial Minister for Higher Education, Archives And Libraries Department Kp
graced this event as Chief guest. Vice Chancellor WUM Prof. Dr. Safia Ahmed, Director DOST
Dr. Taza Gul, MPA Mardan Mr. Amir Farzand Khan, Mr. Khalid Khan Chief Advocate Climate
Justice, Heads of Educational and Affiliated Institutes, Faculty members, Alumni and large
number of female students attended this event. The Foundation Day of Women University Mardan
marks a significant milestone in the institution’s history as this event reflected its journey of
academic excellence and community engagement. Women University Mardan was established in
2016 with a vision to provide quality education to women in Mardan region. This journey started
with a handful of students and faculty members, despite the challenges, this institution grew
rapidly with addition of new programs, expansion of infrastructure and recruitment of highly
qualified regular faculty members.
In the program, brief introduction of University Project was given by Mr. Adnan Masood
Deputy Director P & D. Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Safia Ahmed briefed the audience
about the University Progress and the ongoing Projects. Few MoU’s were also signed with
prestigious institutes like NCHD, DOSTI Welfare Organisation, HBFC, HCF and World
Economic Forum for future collaborations. The Chief Guest Mr. Meena Khan Afridi appreciated
the role of Women University Mardan in providing quality education to female students of
Mardan, KP. He pledged to release 100 million grant on an immediate basis for the construction
of WUM ADP Projects. He also emphasized on introducing the new system of rankings to boost
the financial sustainability and management of universities in KP. The dignitaries were presented
by Souvenirs and Shields as token of appreciation followed by Cake cutting Ceremony.
As a part of celebration, local businesses as well as students from both campuses were
given the opportunity to showcase their products and services through dedicated stalls. Chief Guest
inaugurated and visited the stalls and appreciated the students and local community for their
creativity, active participation and display of excellent entrepreneurial skills.
