WUM Signs MoU with Character Education Foundation

In an effort to promote the character building of students in light of Quranic teachings alongside the conventional education system, Women University Mardan (WUM) and the Character Education Foundation (CEF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday, October 18, 2024.

The MoU was signed by the Vice Chancellor of Women University Mardan, Prof. Dr. Safia Ahmad, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Character Education Foundation (CEF), Mr. Mansoor Shakil. The agreement aims to establish cooperative linkages between WUM and CEF.

The key objectives of the agreement include integrating Quranic and community education into the University Credit System, specialization of the University’s faculty members in Quranic & Community Education, and character building. It also focuses on advancing Quranic education by providing BS program students with a strong foundation in basic Quranic grammar, facilitating their understanding of the Holy Quran, and helping them draw guidance for personal and societal development. Additionally, the MoU aims to equip students with 21st-century skills through community-level activities, fostering their holistic development.

Dr. Rashida Parveen, Head of the Islamic Studies Department; Sadeeq Ahmad, Head of the Academia Facilitation Department; Ms. Haleema Ikram, Deputy Director of ORIC, Women University Mardan; and Parvaiz Khan, Assistant Manager of the Academia Facilitation Department, participated in the MoU signing ceremony.
