The Department of Zoology at Women University Mardan successfully organized a seminar on “Fisheries Resources and Disruptive Technologies for Aquaculture in Pakistan” on 15th November 2024. The event aimed to shed light on the transformative potential of emerging technologies in the aquaculture sector, emphasizing sustainability and innovation.

The seminar featured a keynote address by Dr. Muhammad Zubair Anjum, Assistant Professor at Pir Mehr Ali Shah-Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi. Dr. Anjum provided an insightful presentation on the role of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and biotechnology in enhancing productivity and sustainable practices within Pakistan’s aquaculture industry.

The event saw an engaging audience comprising faculty members, students, and external guests, fostering meaningful discussions on the future of fisheries management and technological advancements.

The seminar’s success was credited to the leadership of Dr. Huma Fatima, Head of the Department of Zoology and Chief Organizer. She extended her gratitude to the Vice Chancellor of Women University Mardan for the support and resources that made the event possible.
