Harassment Awareness Seminar by Department of Islamic Studies

The Department of Islamic Studies organized a Seminar on Harassment Awareness on 24th April 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Main Hall, Bakhshali Campus. The event was conducted under the guidance of the Honorable Vice Chancellor and aimed to educate students about the Harassment Policy issued by the Higher Education Department (HED), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the session, all faculty members actively participated by delivering informative talks on various aspects of the harassment policy. The objective was to ensure that every student clearly understands what constitutes harassment and how to respond if they experience any form of it.

Students were strongly encouraged to:
Speak up and report any instance of harassment to the faculty without hesitation.
Feel safe approaching the Head of Department directly in such cases.
Be aware that false allegations or misinformation regarding harassment will not be tolerated, and appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken as per the university’s code of conduct.
Legal Note on False Allegations in Pakistan:
Under Section 182 of the Pakistan Penal Code, making a false complaint or providing false information to a public servant with intent to cause harm can lead to imprisonment of up to six months, a fine, or both. This law ensures that while victims are protected and empowered to report genuine harassment, misuse of the policy through false claims is also discouraged.
The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, where students raised pertinent questions and received clarifications from faculty members.
