Welcome to the Department of Biotechnology at Women University Mardan! The Department of Biotechnology is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and innovation. Through our BS Biotechnology and M.Phil. Biotechnology programs, we equip students with strong scientific knowledge, practical laboratory skills, and research expertise to address emerging challenges in health, agriculture, industry, and the environment. Our faculty and students are actively engaged in state-of-the-art, interdisciplinary research in areas including probiotics, antimicrobial resistance, industrial biotechnology, wastewater treatment, environmental biotechnology, molecular biology, microbial biotechnology, and sustainable bioprocess development. We encourage research with practical applications, innovation, and commercialization, enabling students to transform scientific ideas into solutions that benefit society. To enhance experiential learning, our BS students complete mandatory internships in accordance with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) policy. Through placements in leading research organizations, biotechnology industries, hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, and environmental agencies, students gain valuable professional experience and develop the technical and professional skills required for successful careers in academia, research, and industry.
