
Women University Mardan Approves Key Financial and Administrative Decisions in 18th F&PC and 29th Syndicate Meetings
Mardan, December 30, 2025 — Women University Mardan (WUM) held its 18th meeting of the Finance and Planning Committee (F&PC) and the 29th meeting of the Syndicate on December 30, 2025, under the chairpersonship of the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Razia Sultana. Both meetings resulted in the approval of several important financial, administrative, and academic decisions aimed at strengthening the university’s institutional framework and promoting the welfare of students and employees.
During the 18th F&PC meeting, the committee thoroughly reviewed the agenda items. To support student access and equity, the committee unanimously approved a 40% fee rebate for less attractive departments. The F&PC also endorsed the introduction of need-based scholarships and approved the Adhoc Relief Allowance–2025.
Subsequently, the 29th meeting of the Syndicate of Women University Mardan was convened under the chairpersonship of Professor Dr. Razia Sultana. The Syndicate approved the Action Taken Report on the decisions of the 28th Syndicate Meeting, thereby ratifying the implementation of earlier resolutions.
The Syndicate further approved the recommendations of the Need Assessment Committee for both administrative staff and faculty positions. All proposed posts were endorsed, subject to the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the Higher Education Department (HED) and the Finance Department, in accordance with prevailing rules and regulations.
Moreover, the Syndicate approved the recommendations of the Finance and Planning Committee, including the grant of a 10% Ad-hoc Relief Allowance for university employees. Various other agenda items recommended by the F&PC were also approved.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Jameel Sahib, nominee of the Higher Education Commission (HEC); Mr. Tariq Sahib and Mr. Rehmat Ali Sahib, Deputy Secretaries, Higher Education Department; Ms. Wardah Latif, Deputy Secretary, Finance Department; Dr. Farid Ullah Shah, Director Colleges; Dr. Mehnaz, Assistant Professor; Dr. Iqra Babar, Lecturer; Mr. Nasir Hussain, Director Works; Mr. Faheem Shah, Treasurer; and Mr. Adnan Ahmad Qureshi, Registrar, who attended as Secretary of the Syndicate.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Justice Raza Khan, Member of the Syndicate, completed his tenure after rendering valuable services to the university. In recognition of his contributions, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Razia Sultana, presented him with a shield and a souvenir on behalf of Women University Mardan, appreciating his guidance and services during his term.
The meeting formally concluded with the Vice Chancellor reaffirming the university’s commitment to institutional development, good governance, and the welfare of its students and employees.
