
Women University Mardan Hosts Distinguished Session on “Patience, Tolerance, Multiculturalism and Inclusiveness in the Modern Academic Environment”
Mardan, November 14, 2025 — Women University Mardan (WUM) organized a thought-provoking and inspiring session titled “Patience, Tolerance, Multiculturalism and Inclusiveness in the Modern Academic Environment” in the Main Hall, which was attended by HODs, a large number of faculty members, students, and administrative staff.
The keynote lecture was delivered by the eminent scholar Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz, former Vice Chancellor, University of Peshawar, and former Chairman, Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), Islamabad.
In his address, Dr. Ayaz shed light on the richness of Pashto culture, particularly its core values of hospitality, patience, respect, and social harmony. He also recited meaningful verses from the poetry of Rahman Baba, drawing connections between the poet’s timeless teachings and the needs of modern academic and social environments.
The session was presided over by the Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, who warmly welcomed the participants. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of fostering inclusive, tolerant, and diverse academic spaces where students and faculty can grow with mutual respect and understanding.
The event was attended by Registrar Mr. Adnan Ahmad, Director P&D Mr Adnan Masood and Campus Coordinator (Bakhshali Campus) Mr. Kamran Khan added strength and institutional spirit to the occasion.
The distinguished session was organized by Director ORIC, Ms. Haleema Ikram, whose dedicated efforts ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the programme.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks to the guest speaker and all participants for making the session an enlightening and enriching experience at Women University Mardan.
