Women University Mardan Observed Kashmir Black Day

The Women University Mardan observed Kashmir Black Day on 27th October, 2025 under the guidance of Worthy Vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana. The day was marked by a strong spirit of solidarity and a commitment to raising awareness about the historical and ongoing struggle of the Kashmiri people. A seminar was held titled “Kashmir Black Day: Historical Context and Contemporary Realities, by Guest Speaker Ms. Nusrat Ara from Women Development Organization. A powerful and poignant short documentary was screened, focusing on the events of October 27, 1947, and its lasting aftermath, offering a visual narrative of the Kashmir conflict.
An all-day posters competition on theme, “Kashmir through Our Eyes,” was displayed in the Main Hall. An essay and a video competition on the topic “A Day in the Life of a Kashmiri Youth” was held. The winners were awarded certificates during the day’s proceedings.
A peaceful Solidarity walk involved students, faculty and staff dressed in black carried placards and banners with messages demanding justice and commemorating Kashmiri lives.
The university community collectively prayed for peace and justice for the people of Kashmir. The Huge number of participants in the event underscored the university’s commitment to fostering a sense of social responsibility and solidarity with Kashmiri people’s struggle against Indian occupation.
