Mardan, December 5, 2024 – Women University Mardan organized the “DOSTI Peshawar Women Literature Festival (2nd Edition), Women University Mardan Chapter” in collaboration with SBBWU Peshawar and DOSTI Peshawar. The event featured a range of activities, including a book fair, mushaira, panel discussions, an anti-corruption walk, and an exhibition on environmental sustainability.
Students showcased innovative recycling projects to raise awareness about climate change, while panel discussions explored women’s empowerment, literature, and cross-cultural understanding. Renowned poets from Mardan and Peshawar inspired the audience with motivational verses, emphasizing youth’s role in nation-building.
The book fair offered a diverse collection of literary works, fostering appreciation for literature among students and faculty. Prof. Dr. Safia Ahmed, Vice Chancellor of Women University Mardan, praised the collaboration between organizers and sponsors for the festival’s success.
Dr. Monazza Serwar, Chief Organizer, highlighted the event’s significance as part of the U.S. State Department-sponsored project Developing Next Generation of Female Environmentalists in Pakistan. The festival left a lasting impact by promoting literature, environmental awareness, and community engagement.
